Chamaerops Humilis Palm.
Transform your garden into a tropical paradise with this fantastically exotic Fan Palm!
Chamaerops humilis, commonly known as Dwarf Fan Palms, are the plants you see growing all across the Mediterranean, and if ever there was a variety to bring a warm holiday feel to your garden, then this is it!
Despite boasting exotic good looks, Fan Palms are actually frost hardy in conditions down to -5C, so will withstand frost, but benefit from going undercover if temperatures are forecast to drop lower than this.
Large rounded leaves are cut into linear, fan-like segments, growing abundantly in a round, compact bush.
These Chamaerops humilis are perfect for pots on the patio or they'll make a striking spectacle in a sunny border.
Like all palms, Chamaerops are very easy to grow and love hot sunny weather, plus they are drought tolerant once established, so are a great option for those who forget to water their plants from time to time.
